I am deeply honoured to have none other than Walter White Bear joining us for two hours of live music during the opening reception this coming Saturday, July 12th from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. He is generously donating his time in support of this event; an absolute gift for the senses amid the perfect landscape. My gratitude to this beautiful soul and the many artists who are contributing to this event knows no bounds.

What is our relationship to our surrounding landscape? Why is the juxtaposition of life and death, what is raw, with what is refined so compelling? And what drives our innate desire to contain what is natural within what is made by man, or to talk what is linear and release it into this wilderness?
This stunning convergence of different mediums, featuring the work of mixed media artist Jennifer Peters and newcomer Kevin Elliott, will also include a collection of local artists ranging from the student to the seasoned professional in the upper gallery.

Gallery in the Meadow is an alternative space for artists, including possible residencies, an upper/lower gallery and an extensive rural property in the heart of Foothills County, Alberta. Jennifer Peters is the first artist to both exhibit and curate a show within these new spaces.
The event kicks off with a guided tour of both the lower and upper gallery spaces, however guests are then invited to take a hike through the exterior as well. A natural footpath has been worn into the landscape, including actual sites for Jennifer’s performance/photographic work, installations, paintings and a stunning sculpture by newcomer Kevin Elliot.
