PHOTOGRAPHY
I am haunted by imagery. From the moment I wake until my mind drifts off to sleep, I exist within a sea of ideas. There is an ocean of possibilities drifting within my mind at any given moment, so I have had to learn to confine this tide into different streams of thought. A good photograph engages the viewer, but it may not be initially clear what is being seen at all. All that may be perceived at first glance is the feeling a given image stirs within the viewer. The narrative becomes clear, as the viewer moves through the work, although I find that with any given work of art, there is at least one individual wherein this story is immediately apparent, no words are necessary and the spirit is struck mute with the depth of their connection. This is the gift a true artist gives to the world; the knowledge that they are not alone and that beauty can stem from every aspect of this life.
I have been recently gifted with access to a second studio space on a local ranch within close proximity to the Sheep River itself. The time spent within this stunning landscape truly is the canvas upon which I was meant to write. The quiet strength of the horses, the inherent freedom of the fields, the raw quality of the forest and the ever shifting tides of snow and ice never fail to inspire this untameable spirit.
